Belle of the Ball 

  then let us 

get you ready, 

all ribbon and lace, 

doilies and place settings, 

let us decorate

for you

like cinderella’s nightingales 

the finer points

    of a moment you’ll 

   look back on as if 

glass slippers were 

made from old ballet shoes, 

and limousines were

transmuted from 

some gourd you found in your 

garden. 

leave it to us 

the pretty little details, 

     and enjoy yourself 

   at the ball.
